New Orleans Saints’ Darren Sproles a nightmare for Miami Dolphins: Film Study
Fantasy Tip: All three running backs should have value in fantasy leagues this season, but Sproles probably will have the most value. He should be a No. 2 running back in point-per-reception leagues and a flex option in other formats. Ingram and Thomas should be seen as No. 3 running backs or flex options in leagues. If there is one area that the Patriots are weak in, besides perhaps run defense, it would be in defending receiving running backs. Brandon Spikes has proven to bevery inconsistentin pass coverage, Donta Hightower still needs work in this area as well, and Jerod Mayohas had his ups and downsin pass coveragethroughout his career. As far as thepure running game is concerned, the Patriots may struggle in that area this week too as Vince Wilfork is no longer in the equationand Tommy Kellyis clearly banged up this week. Considering that their two starting defensive tackles are eitherout or not at 100 percent, it is likely thatyou couldseea lot of Sproles on Sunday. Sproles could affect things down field as well. If the Patriots cannot stop him from running, Drew Brees will be able to utilize play action against the Patriots secondary, leaving the Patriotsutterly confusedon defense. With guys like Graham, Marques Colston and Kenny Stills as legitimate pass catchers for the Saints, thelast thing the Patriots will want tobe is hesitant on defense. For that reason, the Patriotsmust focus all their efforts on taking Sproles away if theywantto come out of Week 6 with a victory. Will Gellman is a New England Patriots Writer for RantSports.com . Brees fit the ball between the two defenders perfectly as Clemons came over late. Graham said the play was more about the throw than blog the catch. I have to agree with him, though Graham made a nice grab to push the Saints ahead 14-3. “I told him after that play, thanks for believing in me,” Graham said of Brees. “He’s just a special quarterback.

The New Orleans running back rotation is quite a mess. Will Sproles emerge against the Patriots? Sproles had a big game two weeks ago, but last week he was not as big a part of the offense. He isn’t running the ball much, or that well, but he is a big part of the passing game. He has 26 receptions so far. In a PPR league, Sproles could be an option at running back.

He creates a lot of interesting matchups and he’s so dang quick it makes it difficult to cover him especially in short and intermediate routes.” The Patriots agree. “It’s definitely tough, especially when they have great receivers,” Patriots safety Steve Gregory said of monitoring Sproles and Thomas. “They have a tight end that can really stretch the field and then you got backs that can not only run it when you hand it off to them but they can spread out and line up as a receiver and hurt you in that way. So they definitely present challenges and it’s something that we’ll have to be on top of our game and know where those guys are on the field at all times, and try to come up with a scheme and a plan to stop them.” Notes: S Roman Harper (knee), WR Lance Moore (hand), RT Zach Strief (ankle) and DE Tyrunn Walker (knee) sat out Wednesday’s practice, while DT Brodrick Bunkley, RB Mark Ingram (toe), S Malcolm Jenkins (neck) and CB Keenan Lewis (knee) were limited.
